Perhaps you’ve heard the song chorus of “do-be-do-be-do”? Well this is a slight twist on that. And it answers the question, “How do I live life?” Answer: “Be-Do-Be-Do-Be-Do”.
Let me explain… Life works best when we’re in a state of being, meaning we’re tuning into our internal GPS, listening to our inner knowing, following our inner nudges. Once we are able to dwell in that state of being, then when we have a knowing about something we need to do, it’s an easy step to take. Thus we will “Be”, then “Do”.
Once we execute the inspired action (“Do”), then we return to our state of being (“Be”). And so it continues: “Be-Do-Be-Do-Be-Do”.
If we find ourselves doing and doing — ultimately if we’re doing because of our mind’s direction (instead of by following our internal GPS’ guidance), we will become stressed, overwhelmed, frustrated, etc. But when we stay in the state of being and are aware and conscious of our inner voice’s guidance, then our doing comes as a result of this guidance and feels inspired and energized.
As we’re doing, if we start to feel frustrated or confused, then it’s time to pause and reconnect with our sense of inner knowing, our essence, for further wisdom and direction.
In short, this means that there is nothing inherently wrong with doing. It’s only when the doing is from a place of ego or the mind, that we can become frustrated, stressed and overwhelmed by life. However, when we stay tuned into our internal GPS’ advice and knowing, then the doing comes from that deep place of inspiration and divine wisdom that will never steer us wrong.
The next time you find yourself doing and feeling overwhelmed or stressed by life, remember the “Be” comes before the “Do” in order to make your life sing.
