“Be willing to go naked.” (May Sarton)
Be willing to reveal your inner nature, your deepest thoughts and imaginings, your wildest self, your boldest essence. Be translucent so others can truly see and know your beauty, your depths, your core.
Allow yourself to be exposed and vulnerable, let your feelings show. Embrace your humanness — your frailties and your talents, in equal measure.
If someone in the world rejects you, take it as a sign that they cannot possibly appreciate your magnificent self, your light-filled being. Turn away from those who cannot see you, and connect with those who can and do.
Spend time with people who honor all of you, respect you, treat you with loving care, nurture your dreams, allow for your stumbles and missteps, and love you unconditionally through it all.
At first, you may find you have winnowed down your support network to just a few essential friends…that’s okay. When you connect deeply with those who value you, you will find one or two are plenty. And when you least expect it, more will come along. For when you decide you are worthy of quality relationships, you will find yourself accepting nothing less.
And in those connections, you will feel free to be, free to expose your naked truth, free to dance and sing as the mood moves you. You will feel loved, as is, just as you are.
When you are willing to go naked in the world, you will come to know who cherishes your essential self, and you will revel in the joy of the love-filled life you have created.
