when emotions flare
and tempers boil
let there be peace
when differences appear
greater than our unity
let there be peace
when how we look
interferes with connecting
let there be peace
when we overuse the land
to fuel our insatiable needs
let there be peace
when some starve
while others overspend
let there be peace
when we perceive lines
between the lands
let there be peace
when all is said and done
we can create it
this vision of oneness
for all of humanity
