Where many of us get tripped up in this game of life is in how we use our mind. Societal mores tell us to rely on the individual mind, to use its power, to harness it to achieve whatever it can dream up. However, spiritual teachings encourage us to get out of the mind, to listen to our inner knowing, to follow our heart, to stop striving and accept ‘what is’. These seem to be in direct opposition to one another.
A friend recently shared the following explanation about the purpose of the mind. I found it so interesting, that I wanted to share it with you. I’d love to open a discussion about this…so after you read it, please comment below with your impressions.
“The [individual] mind was never intended to be a generating center for thought processes, but really as the receiver of the impulse from the heart center of creation, which the individual then utilized to fulfill his or her part in the divine plan.
In the great scheme of things, there is only ONE MIND, not many, and this great perfect mind of God was intended to express itself through the many manifestations of the ONE, and the [individual] self was intended to be merely a conduit in the physical world to take the divine ideas and, through the uses of the substances of the four elements, mould them into form.” (Ascended Master Kuthumi, The Bridge to Freedom Journal, Book 5)
