“When it’s over, I want to say: all my life I was a bride married to amazement. I was the bridegroom taking the world into my arms.” (Mary Oliver)
aging brings us to the abyss
facing our mortality
wondering if we lived fully
truly
wholly
did we take the time to
revel in life’s wonders
cherish important relationships
play as much as possible
discover our joy and bliss
when we take a moment
to ponder
what we’ve experienced
to question
if we’ve savored everything sufficiently
another question arises —
with our limited ability
to grasp all that is
how will we really know
when it’s over
